Booking Terms & Conditions 

Thank you for considering The Scottish Doula to support you in your pregnancy, birth, postpartum and/or motherhood. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before booking with me. You agree to be bound by these terms and conditions by booking with me. 

As a Doula, Hypnobirthing Practitioner, Mindful Breastfeeding Practitioner and advocate for woman centred birth and postpartum, I provide information about pregnancy, childbirth, infant feeding and new baby care as well as emotional support and mindfulness tools that may be applied in preparing for these stages. In addition, I also provide information and resources designed to assist you in making informed decisions about your pregnancy, birth and postpartum including research and signposting to third party sources where appropriate. My resources have been designed to be up-to-date and factually correct at the time of provision and are continually update based on latest information available. 

Information provided will be tailored to you and your individual circumstances and support needs, however, should not be construed in any way as being individual medical advice or instruction. I do not provide clinical advice or recommendations and I cannot tell you what decision to make based on the information given. If you require clinical advice, you must seek this from a medical professional such as a midwife.  

I reserve the right to decline any request for support including where a booking has already been made, in which case an immediate refund will be issued.  

Payment 

All orders are processed through Ticket Tailor and payments facilitated by Stripe or Paypal depending on your selected option; please see their privacy policy for payment processing and General Data Protection Act.  

At the time of booking, you can choose to pay the full payment or a deposit. Once I have received your payment, I will send you a confirmation email. If you have chosen to pay a deposit a repayment plan will be agreed, and the full balance will be due no later than 14 days before your first session with me.  

If you attend online, I will invite you to the arranged Teams meeting. If you are attending in person, I will attend your home and will confirm anything that you need to provide. 

Deposit, Cancellations and Refunds 

When you book any of my payable services, you will be asked to pay a 50% deposit (for all birth preparation, breastfeeding, debrief and virtual doula services), your final payment will be due 7 days prior to our first session together unless we have agreed an alternative payment arrangement. For birth and postpartum doula services the deposit is 25% and we will agree a payment arrangement at the time of booking. You may cancel your booking at any time by letting me know of the cancellation by email, WhatsApp, phone or social media direct message. I will acknowledge receipt of your cancellation by email or phone within 48 hours of receipt. 

If you have paid a deposit, unfortunately this is non-refundable. If you have paid in full and cancel more than 14 days before our first session the start of the course, you will receive a refund minus the amount you would have paid as a deposit only, which is currently 50% or for in person doula services is 25%. If you cancel less than 14 days before the start of the course, no refund will be given. However, under exceptional circumstances, for example if your baby is born before the sessions commence, a full refund will be offered.  

Unforeseen Circumstances 

I understand that clients may miss a session with me. In these situations, I will facilitate a make-up session if possible, in line with my availability and I will be as flexible as possible in relation to this. In the unlikely event that we are unable to rearrange on a date that is convenient for both parties, unfortunately the session time will be lost. In this instance I will provide you with the resources I intended to use with you in the session, for you to work through in your own time.   

If for any reason I need to cancel a session, I will seek to provide as much notice as possible, please note this will only occur in an absolute emergency. In this case I will offer a make-up session as above. In the unlikely event that we are unable to rearrange to a date that is convenient for both parties, I will provide a refund for the session proportionate to the session time from the overall cost of the support you have booked with me.
